ZionSolutions is a subsidiary of EnergySolutions responsible for decommissioning the Zion Nuclear Power Station in Zion, Illinois, 45 miles north of Chicago on the shores of Lake Michigan. The goal of the project is to safely transfer the spent fuel onsite to a highly technically engineered storage pad. Once the fuel is safely removed deconstruction of the power plant will begin. Proprietary, proven technologies and process will be utilized to ensure worker and public safety during all decommissioning activities. Upon completion of the decommissioning project the property and NRC license will be returned to Exelon.
