Oak Ridge

Oak Ridge National Laboratory, or ORNL, located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is one of the DOE’s largest science and energy laboratories. Managed since April 2000 by a partnership of the University of Tennessee and Battelle Memorial Institute, ORNL was established in 1943 as a part of the Manhattan Project to pioneer a method for producing and separating uranium. We provide on-going technical and management support to the ORNL. Our work at ORNL includes sampling, characterization, abatement, segregation, packaging, transportation, D&D and disposal of hazardous materials. We are also responsible for sorting, segregating and reducing the volume of the LLRW at ORNL.
