24/7 Emergency Response Services

EnergySolutions has been providing emergency preparedness and response services since 1971 when we opened the Barnwell disposal facility in South Carolina. Since then, our suite of services has continually evolved to include a comprehensive toolbox of specialized disaster response capabilities including equipment, instrumentation, and procedures, efficiently deployed and effectively implemented by well-trained and experienced professionals.

We have responded to dozens of manufacturing, research, and production facilities; federal- and state-owned sites; universities; and others; helping them to assess conditions and develop plans to recover quickly and get back to operation while maintaining full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. EnergySolutions has a “ready to go” capability that allows us to quickly deploy anywhere in the U.S., typically within 24 hours or less.

Yes, we’re the Radiation Professionals… But we’re so much more.

EnergySolutions is proud of its nuclear and radiological emergency response and planning heritage, but we’re prepared to respond to disasters in many forms. In addition to radiological incidents, we are capable of addressing natural disasters and industrial and hazardous incidents.

Ranked #1 All Environmental Firm
by Engineering News Record

EnergySolutions is the company the world trusts to keep it safe from radioactive and hazardous materials. We have recently been ranked by Engineering News Record as #1 in nuclear waste cleanup and #1 all-environmental firm, and we are consistently among ENR’s Top 10 firms in these categories.

You may require planning or implementation for hazardous chemical cleanup, oil spill response, wastewater treatment, sanitary/industrial/“white goods” waste removal, and a variety of other incident types. Our procedures, equipment, and training are also well-suited to assist you. Our personnel, supervision, and management are trained in OSHA HAZWOPER emergency response. We bring extensive talent, resources, and equipment to bear to solve challenging environmental problems. We have responded to and resolved a number of unanticipated events where we rapidly mobilized, contained, and remediated the contamination.

Key services include mobile site characterization and analysis; on-site processing of contaminated wastewater using skid-mounted treatment units; decontamination of containers, structures, systems, components and personnel; contaminated soil excavation and removal; site restoration; and waste sorting, profiling, packaging, shipping, transporting, processing, and disposal.

Our capabilities are founded on well-trained and experienced environmental rapid response and waste management specialists. Additionally, we maintain a substantial inventory of specialized mobile instrumentation and equipment for characterization, decontamination, and waste management and a nationwide mobile Radioactive Material License (RML) for D&D. We are the owner and operator of seven fixed-base facilities for waste materials processing and disposal. These capabilities, based in 25 nationwide regional offices, can be deployed in a matter of hours.

When unplanned, unfortunate events occur, let us help you get back on your feet and make sure you stay there. We’ll be there when you need us.
