Contribution Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in EnergySolutions. We are proud of our philanthropic history and work hard to promote good corporate citizenship. EnergySolutions is actively involved in the communities where we do business.
The average size donation ranges from $500 - $5,000. Only one request annually will be considered from an organization.
Contributions Focus Areas
Our contributions are primarily directed to Education, Environment, Science & Technology, and Human Services.
Education
EnergySolutions supports educational institutions and nonprofits when the primary focus of the request to promote academic achievement in the areas of environment, science & technology, or health and human services.
Environment
EnergySolutions supports requests from organizations that enhance the environment.
Science & Technology
EnergySolutions supports organizations that promote science and technology in education, awareness, or practical projects.
Health & Human Services
EnergySolutions supports programs that give priority to those whose work primarily benefits low-to-moderate income individuals.
Guidelines and Process
EnergySolutions is on a calendar year for making charitable contributions. Proposals are accepted from January 1 to November 30. There is no formal application; however all request must be made in writing and include information about the requesting organization, what the money will be used for, and a requested amount. To be eligible to apply for an EnergySolutions charitable contribution you must have a current tax-exempt status under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service’s code or must be a qualified governmental or tribal entity.
Requests are reviewed within 30 days and written responses will be provided.
Not Eligible for Consideration
- Individual Boy Scout/Girl Scout troops, little league, soccer teams, or any other recreational sports teams
- Individual schools or districts
- Individual sheriff or police offices
- Capital/Endowment campaigns
- Travel, including student athletic or academic trips and conferences
- Direct benefits to individuals (e.g. pageants, medical funds, sponsorships)
- Purchase of vehicles
- Receptions/conference attendance
- Start up funding for new nonprofits organizations
- Organizations requesting funding for outside of the following areas
