EnergySolutions has the capabilities to fully support the U.K.’s nuclear energy future. The need to clean up Europe’s nuclear legacy, together with the renewed interest in a new build programme, is producing opportunities in the nuclear sector. EnergySolutions has designed, constructed, and operated more than 150 pilot plants and test rigs in the U.S. and the U.K. over the last 20 years. These plants have supported the design, commissioning, and operation of facilities that range from small-scale to full-scale. EnergySolutions believes there are a number of business development opportunities in the U.K. and continental Europe which are well matched to our skills and capabilities.

EnergySolutions acquired Reactor Sites Management Company (RSMC) from British Nuclear Fuels. We now have the opportunity to participate in the continued safe operation and decommissioning of ten of the U.K.’s Magnox reactor sites on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, which has strategic responsibility for the U.K.’s nuclear legacy. The site and locations are divided into two sections, shown below with accompanying map.
